Obituary of Charles Gordon
Charles W. Gordon, Jr., age 81 of Pikes Creek, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Memorial Sloan Kettering, New York, NY.
Mr. Gordon was born in Lehman on April 28, 1936 and was the son of the late Charles W. and Margaret Morgan Gordon.
Charles graduated from Lake-Noxen High School in 1954 and received his associates degree from the Pennsylvania State University in 1958. He served in the US Army for 2 years. Charles was an agent for Nationwide Insurance for 48 years where he obtained numerous sales awards and was later a real estate agent for 10 years. He was an active member of the Maple Grove United Methodist Church, Irem Shriners, Irem Transportation Unit, Harveys Lake Lions Club and the National Association of Realtors. Charles was also a private pilot and an avid Penn State fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothea.
Charles is survived by children, Charles W. Gordon, III and his wife Kristin of Harveys Lake and Terri Bynon and her husband Glen of Dallas; grandchildren, Glen, Jesse and John Bynon and Charles, IV and Alexandra Gordon; sister, Alice Miller of Hamburg, NY; extended family, Allen and Karen Scott of Pikes Creek, Megan and Brian Kubasik, Allen and Nica Scott, Blaise, Payton, Zane and Skye; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 11:00 am from the Maple Grove United Methodist Church, 5876 Main Rd, Hunlock Creek, PA 18621 with Pastor W. James Pall, officiating.
Friends may call 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek.
