Obituary of Edna Claire Jackson

Edna Claire Jackson, age 79 formerly of Mooretown, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Bonham's Nursing Center, Stillwater. Mrs. Jackson was born May 20, 1937 in Wayne, NJ, and was the son of the late John Clifford and Edna Bredder Mechan. She was employed as a Legal Secretary in Patterson, NJ and enjoyed camping, flea marketing, and midget car racing. Claire was a member of the Loyalville United Methodist Church. Her daughter Lorene Rae Jackson died in 1991 and her husband, Robert R. Jackson died in 2009. She is survived by a sister: Val Killinger of Carlisle; son, James Jackson; brother, John Mechan, Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., 2386 State Route 118, Hunlock Creek, with Rev. Carol Folk of the Loyalville United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek. Friends may call from 12:00 noon to the time of the service on Saturday. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be sent to the SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 East Main St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
