Sally Marie Roberts Brown, age 83, of Shavertown, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 20, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Sally was born on May 18, 1933, in Kingston, Pa. to John P. and Blanche Roberts. She graduated from Laketon High School in 1951. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter Beverly Anne Brown in 1953, husband Samuel T. Brown in 1978, sisters Margaret Husted, Delores Sorber, and Betty Ann Amos, and brother John Roberts. Survivors include brothers A. William, Guy and Richard Roberts of Benton, and Bruce Roberts of Stillwater, sisters Thelma Weihner of Bloomsburg, Blanche Getz and Nancy Slusser of Benton, Leila Wills of Land O'Lakes, FL, Theresa Kubasek and Lori Tunaitis of Stillwater, sons Samuel A. Brown and wife Mary Ann of Shavertown, Robert Brown and wife Alodia of Fairfield, California, daughter Robin Whitten of Woodbridge, Va., 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and more than 30 nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 3:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 &118, Pikes Creek with ministry liaison Bethany M. Huh. officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until the time of the service on Saturday.
