Theresa A. Harvey, age 88 of Shavertown, formerly of Noxen, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Mrs. Harvey was born in Trucksville on April 23, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Ignatius and Catherine Hlavac Kuharcik.
Theresa graduated from the former Marymount High School and prior to retirement was employed by J.S. Raub Shoes in Wilkes-Barre for 40 years. She was a member of the Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake. She was loving wife, mother and grandmother. Theresa enjoyed baking, camping at Camp Onawandah in Tunkhannock, snowmobiling, playing cards, bowling, spending time with her family and friends and bragging about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Gilbert, sons, Fred Mihal and Richard Harvey, sisters, Rose Smith and Anne Kay and brother, Andrew Kuharcik.
Theresa is survived by sons, George Harvey and his wife, Ruby, of West Virginia, John Mihal and his wife, Marlene, of Simpson, Michael Harvey and his wife, Roberta, of Fleetville, Kenneth Harvey of Noxen and Timothy Harvey of Old Forge; daughters, Christine "Tina" Chesniak and her husband, Luke, of Old Forge and Patricia Harrison and her fiancé, David Lippa, of Shavertown; sister, Toni Edmiston and her husband, Frank, of Fairless Hills; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 22, 2018 at 10:15 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with A Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am from the Our Lady of Victory Church, 16 Second St., Harveys Lake, PA 18618, with Rev. Daniel Toomey, officiating.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Franklin Twp.
